Patient & Personal Stress Assessment and Management


Our quality of life and the ability to enjoy both work and recreation is directly related to the way each of us handles stress. Much of the presentation will involve demonstration, role-playing and active participation. How to recognize patients in stress, how patient’s stress relates to their clinical treatment and how to manage both patient and personal stress will be taught in this lecture/participation course. Participants will be given questionnaires to evaluate and assess their personal stress profiles as related to life change events, daily activities and especially the dental office environment. Nine practical tips to manage stress will be discussed and/or demonstrated. All participants will learn, experience and practice relaxation techniques in groups and teams. These techniques can be used effectively at any time in the future without additional workshops or training. This course is an upbeat, interactive presentation that will leave a long-lasting impression on the participants.
